Why Consider Home Tutoring?

SEN Home Tutoring - things to consider

Every child, no matter their personal challenges, is unique and an individual. That's why I believe in a child-centred approach to learning. If you have a child with additional needs, or SEN, it is vital that they receive tailored support to access their education.

In certain cases, some children become school refusers. This can be for many reasons and if your child is currently not able to regularly access a school setting, you may be considering home tutoring as a short, or longer term option. If this describes your situation, then contact me today to discuss if home tutoring is the best support for you and your child.

SEN Learning should be Fun

I firmly believe that a fun, stimulating, visual and multi-sensory approach helps most children in their learning. Within the Guildford, Surrey and Hampshire areas I can offer study support, 1:1 social and learning skills, key life skills, emotional support and after school tutoring. I have found that many children with SEN struggle within a school environment and the rigid conformities of the school day. If you have chosen a home education for your child as is your right as a parent and you need help and support, then contact me today for free advice.

SEN Individualized, Behaviour Support

There is always a reason for behaviour and most of the time it is to communicate something, or to fulfil a want/need. I assess and view things as if I were within the child and looking out, not as someone simply observing as an outsider. There are so many different factors that must be considered and it is essential to truly understand the child before you try to deal with any undesirable behaviour. A tailored home tutoring approach can often benefit and correct a child displaying behavioural problems.

I have also provided support and behaviour management for children with complex needs such as PDA, EBD, ASC, SEMH and ODD.
