1:1 CHILD COACHING
Providing Home Tutoring and Support in Surrey and Hampshire

1:1 Home Coaching in Guildford & Surrounding Areas

I provide 1:1 coaching for children whose emotions need regulating and to provide improved support for their mental well-being. Most of these children require additional help with their education because they find that the noise, hustle and bustle of the classroom causes them distraction, or loss of concentration. These children need additional encouragement to engage with the learning process. Ultimately, they benefit from 1:1 coaching where the teacher has more time to engage with them and can tailor the learning process to that individual child’s needs. Often that can only happen through home coaching.

I use a combination of my personal and professional experience and training to provide 1:1 coaching. I employ a combination of CBT and emotional regulation techniques to support your child's mental health and behaviour.

SEN Home Learning Engagement Strategies

I use methods that can be proven to engage, motivate and enthuse children to learn – from play therapy, visual aids, role-playing, music and even reward. All tailored to keep the child’s attention span and to encourage enjoyment in learning.

I tutor on a 1:1 basis within your home and create a bespoke approach that supports your child's needs.

ELSA

Emotional Literacy skills can be a factor in emotional regulation. Support for children and young person’s emotional development to help them cope with life’s challenges.

Emotional literacy support is not to fix problems but to help them find their own solutions and important support to a child or young person. Relationships are key in helping children and young people to feel safe and nurtured. ELS is creating a reflective space for the child or young person.

Emotional Literacy Support:

• Emotional Literacy
• Self-esteem
• Social Skills
• Friendship issues
• Relationships
• Managing strong feelings
• Anxiety and worries
• Bullying
• Emotional Regulation
• Growth Mindset
• Problem solving

ELS is similar to emotional coaching where through empathetic engagement the child's emotional state is verbally acknowledged and validated, promoting a sense of security and feeling 'felt'. This activates changes in the child's neurological system and allows the child to calm down, physiologically and psychologically.
