DBS Safeguarding for SEN Home Tutoring

It is sad to say, but, in this day and age, the incidence of child abuse is all too often in the news and there are many cases where a person in whom trust has been placed is the cause.

When you entrust a person to come into your home to teach your child your mind needs to be at rest and your confidence secure in the knowledge your child is safe.

Having experienced first-hand these anxieties as a parent with a child needing special instruction, I take every care to be fully open and transparent with parents. Not only do I have two DBS clearance certificates, but I am also happy to give references that will vouch for my conduct and character.

I take the safety and well-being of your child very seriously. I am registered with the DBS Update Service, so that I receive regular rescreening for my certificates and ongoing training, but also first aid emergency trained, in case of accidents in the home.

My undertaking to provide Trusted SEN services in a Safe Environment

As a professional SEN home tutor, I undertake to teach your child in a safe and respectful way, taking all care for their well-being and to advise you of any safeguarding and safety issues I feel pertinent to their learning and learning environment. I also undertake to ensure DBS certificates are kept current and up-to-date and to participate in any ongoing training pertinent to a child’s safety. I am also happy to provide parents with references and testimonials for them to inspect at any point during my tenure with them.

Using CBT techniques to devise a non-confrontation approach to learning also helps to ensure safety and mental well-being during the learning process.
