Benji the Beagle has a special surprise for his cat friend’s birthday. His friend is finally safe after being rescued from animal testing, but she still finds some things very difficult — especially feeling envious.

For a long time, she had so little that she felt envious of what her friend Benji had, and she felt unloved. Benji knows how special his friend is. On her birthday, he gives her a very special gift — his own favourite toy, one that holds a precious memory for him.

Through this thoughtful and surprising act of kindness, Benji helps his friend discover that she is loved, and their friendship grows even bigger. Benji helps Ginger to understand that it's not the things we have that are important, but the people we have around us.

The Sharing Surprise is a warm and gentle story about kindness, generosity, and learning to appreciate that loved ones and friends are what make you lucky and not the items you have.
